INDRA MAMI I GREW WITH Indra mami had been a close part of our growing up years. I remember vividly right from the days, the marriage of mama and mami which took place at Delhi when with great aplomb the entire family geared up for the marriage and went to Delhi , brought mami to our family in the confines of Bombay flats. Mami was schooled in old family values and she accepted open heartedly the entire big family . With in the house itself she had her mother in law ( periammi) , sister in law ( Thangammi)and her son (Kannan ) as part of the household. Then the other sister inlaws and their families only at stone throw distances .
